CfP – 3rd annual conference on Peace and Conflict Studies

This year’s conference theme is ‘Shaping Peace – Local Infrastructures and State Formation’ and it will take place at the University of Manchester 11-12 September 2014. We welcome proposals for individual papers or panels on local initiatives of peacebuilding, their relationship with the state as well as theoretical and conceptual investigations into the issues of state formation and local infrastructures of peace. Please send your abstracts (250 words max.) to iapcs@manchester.ac.uk by 31 May 2014. For more information click here.

Following the success of the Group’s Workshop with Professor Carolyn Nordstrom (University of Notre Dame) in February 2013, the Group plans to offer another one-day closed Workshop followed by a public lecture this autumn. Annual conference

The Group is organising its 2nd Annual Conference with the International Association for Peace and Conflict Studies (IAPCS), which will be held between 12 – 13 September 2013 at the Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI), University of Manchester. Keynote speakers include Professor David Chandler (Westminster), Professor Sharbanou Tadjbakhsh (Sciences Po, Paris), Dan Smith (International Alert).
