Dear colleagues

Can you help us recruit participants for an experiment in online deliberation? Can you send out an email to students and colleagues or a social media post to followers?

Michael Morrell, Paolo Spada and I are leading a global experiment to test new platforms for commenting on news online. We aim to help promote humility in public discourse and prevent digital harrassment and trolling. The lessons we learn from this project will be useful for broader democratic innovation.

The experiment will start in January and run for 3 weeks. All you have to do during the experiment is fill out a survey and then read and comment on news articles as if it was a normal newspaper or blog. You won’t know which experimental group you’ve been assigned to. But at the end, you will be able to see what the other groups experienced.

The more people who participate, the more robust the results.
