POLITICAL ADVOCACY IN MULTI-LEVEL GOVERNANCE SYSTEMS:

Location: Vu University Amsterdam and University of Amsterdam; Amsterdam

Prospective students: Post-graduate students (Masters and Phd programs) in comparative politics, public policy, democracy and regulation willing to do research on interest groups. The maximum number of participants is 25.

Period: 1st -9th July, 2014. The School consists of 1 week teaching. Students will attend around 30 hours classes divided into lectures (20 hours), student presentations and seminar discussion (10). We expect students to attend all sessions and actively participate in all discussions and paper presentations by fellow students and professors.

Requirements: We highly recommend students present papers related to their own research. It can be a work in progress or a final paper. Exceptionally we will also accept project proposals. Students should submit their papers or research proposals (a minimum of 4.500 words) by the end of June. Applications of students willing to present a paper will be prioritized among others.

Selection procedure: we will select candidates on a “first come first serve” basis. Once the course is full, we will open a waiting list for late applicants. We will prioritize among those students willing to present a paper or research proposal.

Certificate of attendance: Successful participation in the School will be fully accredited (6 ECTS or equivalent).

Prize award: The best paper will receive a special award. A committee of three professors will evaluate all the papers.
