Doctoral student

 

Date of start:                       01.09.2015

Duration of contract:            1 year. This contract is renewable for 2 x two years. The maximum possible duration is thus 5 years.

Employment rate:                 100%

Gross salary yearly:              CHF 65’000.00 (first year)

 

 

Desired qualifications:

 

o        Master’s degree in Social Sciences (sociology, anthropology, demography) or closely related field

o        Fluency in French and English

o        Good basic theoretical knowledge in gender studies

o        Motivation to pursue a PhD thesis in this research field.

 

Job description:

 

o        A minimum of 50% of working time will be spent on the preparation of a doctoral thesis in gender studies

 

o        A maximum of 50% of working time will be spent assisting with teaching or research tasks (teaching activities under the supervision of a senior academic, contribution to joint research projects, technical or administrative tasks that pertain the department’s teaching or research activities).

 

o        The doctoral student will participate in the CUSO “Gender Studies” doctoral program : http://gender.cuso.ch.
