The ECPR Standing Group on Regulatory Governance was delighted to support the International Conference to Inaugurate a Global Governance Regulatory Research Network, hosted by the Chinese University of Hong Kong in July 2019. The conference attracted established and early career scholars from all over the world and stimulated excellent discussions across disciplines and continents.

The conference is to be the first in an biennial Asia Pacific Conference on Regulatory Governance series to be held in alternate years to the ECPR Standing Group on Regulatory Governance Biennial Conference. Most significantly, participants in the conference endorsed a proposal to establish a Global Governance Regulatory Research Network and further work to develop this will be undertaken prior to the next ECPR Standing Group Conference to be held in Exeter in June 2020. All participants were very grateful to Professor Carlos Lo and his excellent team for hosting the conference.
