Our biennial Parliaments Conference brings together senior and junior scholars of the field. Away from the hectic bustle of large-scale conferences, it offers unique opportunities for detailed discussions and networking. The academic program is usually complemented by a social program including a visit to the  national or regional parliament, a welcome reception, and a conference dinner on the second evening of the conference, allowing participants ample opportunity to catch up with old friends and to meet new standing group members.

Previous editions of the Parliaments Conference have taken place in Dublin (2012), Vienna (2014), Munich (2016), Basel (2017), Leiden (2019), virtual (2021), and Paris (2022). We invite papers that deal with the empirical study of parliaments and legislatures, though the exact thematic and regional range of papers is deliberately broad.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we changed for the 2022 Conference in Paris to even years. In 2023, we will return to hold the Parliaments Conference in uneven years. The 2023 edition will be held in Vienna 6th-8th July. More information can be found here.
