Call for Nomination

The ECPR Standing Group on Knowledge Politics and Policies announces the fourth call for an Excellent Paper from an Emerging Scholar. The winner of the 2019 Excellent Paper Award will be announced before the Standing Group meeting at the 2020 annual ECPR general conference in Innsbruck, Austria and the award will be given at the meeting. The members of the Judging Panel for the 2019 Excellent Paper from an Emerging Scholar are:

Dr. Emanuela Reale – Research Director, Research Institute on Sustainable Economic Growth – ICRES CNR

Professor Luis Sanz Menéndez – OPIS Research Professor, Department of Science and Innovation, CSIC Institute of Public Goods and Policies (IPP)

Professor Bjørn Stensaker – Professor, Department of Education, University of Oslo, and Research Professor at the Nordic Institute for Innovation, Research, and Education (NIFU).

Eligibility and nomination process

A nominee is eligible if she/he fulfils all of the following criteria:

(1)  Is currently enrolled in a PhD Programme or has obtained PhD after August 2017;

(2)  Is the Sole or Lead Author in the paper presented;

(3)  Presented the paper (preferably unpublished) at a conference or workshop between November 2018 and November 2019; 

(4)  Submits the application via email by the 25th of January 2020.

(5)  Should be a member of the Standing Group as of 25th of January 2020.

The application consists of the following:

·      Paper presented (no more than 8000 words, excluding references), along with details of the conference (panel title, date of presentation)

·      CV (2 pages, including details of institutional affiliation)

·      A short statement of support from any of the following (only one statement of support is required for the application): the PhD supervisor, a committee member, the panel chair, or the panel discussant
