Apply now to the next PhD Summer School on Conceptual History

Applications are now accepted for the forthcoming edition of the widely known PhD Summer School “Introduction to Conceptual History” that will be held at the University of Helsinki, 8-22 August 2018.

The summer school (worth 6 ECTS) is a critical journey into the key concepts used in politics and other activities. It introduces the main aspects of the theory and methodology of conceptual analysis by discussing the work of scholars such as Reinhart Koselleck, Quentin Skinner, J. G. A. Pocock, Michel Foucault, Pierre Rosanvallon and Dipesh Chakrabarty. Students will be encouraged to use these as tools in their own research projects. In addition, trends in current scholarship will be explored through case studies presented by course members as well by as invited guests.

The course will be conducted via lectures, discussions and work-in-progress sessions.
