The Research Committee of Legislative Specialists (RC08 / RCLS) will coordinate a number of panels at the IPSA World Congress. The call for panel submissions is now open. The Importance of Constitutions II: Parliamentarism, Representation and Voting Rights

We are pleased to announce an international workshop on The Importance of Constitutions in Uppsala 16-17 June 2014, a few days before the Swedish midsummer celebrations. A first meeting on the topic was arranged in Istanbul in October 2013. This time too, we invite papers discussing parliamentarism, representation and voting rights from a constitutional perspective. Joint Sessions 2014

Joint Sessions of Workshops Hanna Bäck (University of Lund) and Bjørn-Erik Rasch (University of Oslo) have been successful in their application to organise a Workshop on ‘The Evolution of Parliamentarism and its Political Consequences‘ at the 2014 Joint Sessions of Workshops

Summer School

Sam Depauw (VUB) will host the third Summer School in Brussels. The Summer School is likely to be held in August. The venue will be published on the Standing Group’s website in due course.

SG General Conference

Wolfgang C. Müller (University of Vienna) will host the Group’s second General Conference in Vienna. The conference is likely to be in May or June 2014. Further information will be published on the Standing Group’s new website in due course.

Goodbye to Co-convenor Shane Martin, hello to Thomas Saalfeld At the ECPR Joint Sessions of Workshops in Mainz, Dr. Shane Martin (Dublin City University) stood down as Co-convenor. Shane Martin has been a driving force behind the Group’s achievements.
