- INITIAL MATTERS
1.1 Apologies for absence
Apologies for absence received: John Erik Fossum.
1.2 Minutes of the last meeting
The minutes from the last meeting were circulated. The webpage has been updated. We had a meeting with the editors from Representation – nothing formal has been set up, but both the journal and the SG are conscious of the opportunities for collaboration.
1.3 Other matters arising
It was noted that the membership has risen from about 350 to 427 as of today. Lucy Kinski and Resul Umit organized a series of online seminars in the first half of 2021 and will organize another series in the autumn 2021. The SG will circulate the call for presenters.
- REPORT OF ACTIVITIES IN 2020-21
The SG co-organized (with the SG on Political Concepts) a special section for the ECPR General Conference 2021.
- FUTURE EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
No concrete plans for future events and activities, but a call for ideas will be circulated shortly to the members of the SG.
- ISSUES RAISED BY STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS
No issues raised.
- ELECTION OF CO-CONVENORS
Zoe Lefkofridi is stepping down as chair of the convenor group, and the rest of the members extend their thanks to her for her work for the group over the last two years. A call for volunteers to join as co-convenors will be circulated shortly. We would like to hear from women and younger researchers in particular.
- AOB
If the next meeting can be held in person, it was suggested to have it together with a drink at a café/bar in order to make the meeting more welcoming especially to younger members of the SG.
It was suggested that the SG should push the ECPR to push institutions to recognize the work of convenors etc.
