You may find all relevant information below and as always, if you have news to share, do feel free to reach out to us and we’ll include it in our next newsletter. We expect to forward you our next newsletter closer to the date of the general conference with updates and the agenda of our Business Meeting which is scheduled to take place on Monday the 22th of August at 17:00 – 18:00.

  1. ECPR Research Project Grant

The ECPR Research Project Grant aims to support Standing Groups and Research Networks embarking on a large-scale research project. You may find all relevant information here and the application form here

Only Standing Groups can apply for this funding, but we are happy to submit a proposal on behalf of our members. If you are in the process of developing a bid for which this funding opportunity would be of use and you wish the involvement and the support of the ECPR-POVB standing group, please forward us a proposal – using the Application form that is attached in this email by the 20th of August

  1. POVB SG Best Paper Prize

We are happy to announce that this year we are aiming at offering A Best Paper Prize! Are you presenting a paper in one of the POVB SG panels during the ECPR general conference? Then you might  be the winner of the next POVB SG Best Paper Prize.

The decision will be made in two steps: i) the discussant(s) will suggest the best paper from each panel  ii)  a Best Paper Selection Committee will evaluate and rank all papers received.  In both steps we will make sure to address any conflicts of interest that may arise.

  1. ECPR Conference panels and SG Business Meeting

The standing group organized section S17 entitled “Elections, Public Opinion and Voting Behaviour – A return to normalcy?” that consists of the maximum number of panels allowed, that is eight in-person panels and a virtual one.

We have tried to place all our activities including the business meeting, in the same room, that is Building: D, Floor: 1, Room: SRVI. Our panels have been allocated to Panel Sessions 2 to 10, i.e. our first panel starts on Monday 22/8/2022 at 15:00 and our last (virtual) panel starts on Thursday 25/8/2022 at 11:00

UPDATE: Please note the our panel on Thursday morning has been moved to Building: C, Floor: G, Room: 052

Looking forward to seeing you all in Innsbruck!

Best wishes,
