CfP for the in-person Panel: Openness to others: Nationalism, migration, & representation

Studies analyzing a country’s openness towards newcomers tend to differentiate between liberal versus restrictive policy approaches. Yet, openness is a constantly evolving process negotiated by many actors at many levels. Through a political lens, this panel explores such dynamics of the motives and ways in which various actors embrace/deter the process of newcomers claiming and gaining rights.
